Three Grows, One War: Frontline Update

This week’s update on the spider mite war: real progress on two fronts, and the toughest call yet on the third. Black Widow and Blue Sunset Sherbet are winning the fight, Black Widow just got a full AquaValve auto-watering install, and Silk Road didn’t make it — I’m culling that tent and starting fresh from clones.

Black Widow & Blue Sunset Sherbet — Winning the Fight

Both tents are holding their own against the mites — the IPM rotation is working, and I’m not seeing the kind of population rebound that would mean starting the protocol over. Black Widow also got a real upgrade this week: I unboxed and installed the AquaValve auto-watering system, right from the base connection through to the reservoir hookup. One less thing to hand-water every day, and one less excuse for inconsistent watering to stress the plants while they’re already fighting mites.

Silk Road — The Hard Call

This is the one that hurt. Silk Road’s growth structure — tight, leafy, classic Indica — turned out to be a nightmare for mite control. The leaves are packed so close together that spraying properly and actually seeing what’s happening underneath is nearly impossible. I’ve made the call to cull this tent and start fresh from clones. Not a step back — just recognizing that this particular structure was never going to let me win this fight cleanly, and clones give me a real reset instead of continuing to fight a losing battle.

Tent by Tent

Black Widow — winning the fight, plus a full AquaValve auto-watering install. Blue Sunset Sherbet — also winning, holding steady. Silk Road — culled. Structure made the mites impossible to beat; starting fresh from clones.
